Well this week was the release of Ghost Tape being sold on the genius platform that is BandCamp, I have put the album out and had some response not a massive but people have taken notice, for the people who bought it thank you:

So if your math is like mind you will be proud to know that its 4 sales and counting will maybe not counting but 4 sales altogether so far!!!!!!What can i say? i am stunned it did sell and i love and thank the people who bought it, it means so much you would not believe, its not being in a humble state, but a state of being so happy that i can build my confidence in people wanting to listen to my music, not going down the sentimental route but it means more than you can ever think!
Basically in my musical past, i have been over looked for being in bands, because probably not good enough for peoples egos, i never get mentioned from friends and they probably think my music isn’t that great either in fact i know,and because am not playing guitar on stage, its hard to get through to people who don’t understand different music, but it’s what i use and do is just a different medium, because am not playing a guitar solo or playing drums on stage doesn’t make me less of a musician, i know people think this, and this is why i find it difficult to communicate the music i love and want to produce!
To be loved by thousands is probably a pipe dream for me, because being loved for what i do seems to be a major struggle now, there is really only a handful of people who appreciate what i do and that’s because they are open enough to listen and most important hear what i am creating, this is where most people turn off!
I think this is all comes down to popularity maybe that’s why its called popular music (dumb response i know), but most cases its just generic bullshit that has no soul and is made for financial gain, this is where i turn off, music is not a competition to be won and not a popularity contest either, music is at the end of the day an art form, this is how i express myself and how i want to push myself too, the easy option is not my goal we can all learn Mustang Sally and play to dumb drunk fucks, that’s a given but to actually push yourself and your creative mind to make something infinite that can stand the test of time or at least until you die! Now that’s where i want to be, don’t vote for me to win a competition but listen for a brief moment on something i have made, that’s all i ask, being a musician and loving music is where i am in life, not playing at battle of the bands or how many people can LIKE my Facebook page, i Love music and want to express myself and that’s what i do, the ironic thing is about this post is no one will read it, so that just establishes my point entirely!

The Calm Project Playing At Circuits Music Night :)

Hello fellow human alien deep sea dwelling people from another world, its Blog time again :)
Okay since my last blog and only 2 nights ago The Calm Project Played its first gig for more than a year now, it was good, obviously i can think of ways to improve it but i don’t have the technology for what i am trying to do!The Songs i played live were:

I really enjoyed being back in the thick of it and can’t wait for my next gig which will be happening on the 22nd October, i will be playing 2 new songs on the night and will be up for playing and performing some more, good times were had!The Night was also a first for Circuits Music Night a alternative music night where all sorts of music can be played under one roof, gone are the days of just bands being bands playing band music! On the bill were Gilda Bliss, Hot Hail, TBK and myself of course! And it was a successful night considering all what happened and was running up to the gig!
So what’s next for The Calm Project, well to actually get around to releasing Ghost Tape, its been way too long, i am hoping this monday 10th October will be released, just need to sort out artwork and be happy with the image and what i am trying to achieve with my music and my visual side, i even on the gig tried a new look which you can see in the picture and quite like the idea of looking different on stage….Also did 2 amazing Collaborations One with LWO Called Blood Red River, and the 2nd was a work with Autumna Called Tide Again, i provided the music and got the vocal text from my good friend and collaborator, Please check them out on my Facebook page and Enjoy :)
I am and should be working on some new ideas and collaborations which i am pretty excited about as i am writing for a female voice and i like the idea of the music being feminine and taking on both sides or universal which would be a better word… Also i am going to start working on ideas for Subject B, think its been way too long and should write some new instrumental music, thats all i can think of right now on what is happening with myself and my music, there will be more updates soon

Welcome come back blogger pick pickers, am sure your all been waiting with baited breath for my next blog well here it is ;p

Bjork my hero and one of the greatest inspirations out there musically and artistically, i love that someone like her can evolve and people listen and wait for her next release like it was the second coming, at this moment she is performing at Manchester as apart of a residency where she will be performing songs from her biophilia album as well as by the sounds of it thegreatest gig you would ever see, this is excellent and am glad someone is aloud to evolve in music right now because its stale as fuck right now!

Okay my gripe, this new album is an App album and special features are only on devices who have apps or ipads and more advanced phone technology, this is great but what about the millions of people who don’t have this equipment? Am hoping the CD (yes remember them) or Dvd will have something special for the fans who don’t possess these technological advances!

On a suck up level i love the single Crystalline her voice is shining through as ever and is just amazing and i love the treated celesta sounding instrument, well done missBjork!

Okay another gripe, am not comparing myself to Bjork but if people are so interested in something different then why don’t they listen to myself or explore other avenues where they can here new music, Hurts isn’t new or clever!

Ghost Tapes

A new beginning a solo adventure

Well how are you viewers of the Calm Project Blog? Silence is your weapon and i feel its death!
Well for the people interested in knowing i am working on music, there should hopefully be 3 new songs coming soon, will these create an album worth of material, who knows at the moment the idea of people listening i find amusing but the people who do, my god i love you so much for listening and giving my music a chance!
I have been listening to some new music and i think thats influencing my new music, especially messing with different time signatures there will be one song i have done that, am still exploring music and everyday is a new surprise for me, i love music so much!
The other things in my life are working on music for a dance that involves dance music and gypsy music with hip hop beats, and rearranging some original tracks for dance…. The other exciting thing is a collaboration i Did with Little Weird Orchestras on a song called Routine, its different its original and i had great fun singing on this track, and might i say loved the mix on this track a lot, please check it out :) http://soundcloud.com/littleweirdorchestra/routine
Next on my agenda is doing all this Live, i have ideas that i would like to pursue and am excited about what the future holds for myself and my music, i think the idea of being a bit selfish is something i should look into as i really want to share my music with people and being strong and delivering something new is always bold and i applaud the musicians over the years who have brought about change, i wish one day people would see me in that light! Who knows they probably won’t even shine the light in my direction :( No am not feeling sorry for myself its just a fact! We talk about change yet were all in the same place, now is it me or is that fucked up?
